Rakkar Digital company has been granted a Digital Asset Custodian License by Thailand’s Ministry of Finance under the oversight of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This development marks a significant step in enabling Rakkar Thailand to operate as a fully licensed digital asset custodian, supporting the country’s expanding blockchain and cryptocurrency ecosystem, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

In tandem with this regulatory milestone, Rakkar Digital Group has surpassed an impressive $700 million in Assets Under Custody (AUC), underscoring its rapid growth and commitment to providing institutional-grade digital asset custody solutions across the region.

Rakkar’s newly secured license allows it to offer regulated institutions in Thailand robust solutions for managing and securing digital assets. By focusing on private key security and operational efficiency, Rakkar said it aims to meet the demands of the fast-evolving digital asset economy. The company has also been recognized for delivering the industry’s fastest service-level agreements (SLAs), enabling institutional clients—including exchanges, brokers, and fund managers—to scale their operations with agility and confidence.

“These dual milestones reflect the strength of our vision and the confidence our clients place in our capabilities and solutions. With the strategic support of SCB 10X and the unwavering support of our clients and partners, we remain resolute in setting the gold standards for end-to-end security, compliance, and innovation,” Arthit Sriumporn, founder and CEO of Rakkar, said.

Along with Rakkar’s growing influence, Thailand’s digital asset ecosystem has been increasing in prominence. The company’s success is expected to foster trust and innovation in the region, setting a benchmark for institutional-grade custody solutions and enabling institutions to navigate the future of digital assets with security and confidence.

The Thai Finance Ministry previously granted the country's first Digital Asset Custodian license to Kasikornbank's Orbix Custodian in September - its operations are expected to commence in early 2025.
