Fintech Redefined: Hong Kong Fintech Week 2023 Sets the Stage for Innovation

Organized by the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau (FSTB) and InvestHK, the event will feature over 300 distinguished speakers, 540 exhibitors, and explore six key themes driving the future of fintech.

Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) has officially announced the agenda and speakers for the highly anticipated Hong Kong FinTech Week 2023 (HKFTW), set to run from October 30 to November 5.

Themed "Fintech Redefined," this eighth edition of HKFTW will gather global leaders in innovation, technology, and finance. Organized by the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau (FSTB) and InvestHK, the event will feature over 300 distinguished speakers, 540 exhibitors, and explore six key themes driving the future of fintech.

The conference aims to attract more than 30,000 attendees, with an additional 5 million online viewers expected from over 90 economies. The main physical conference, taking place from November 2 to 3 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, will delve into topics including global regulations, sustainable finance, AI, Web3, and opportunities within the Greater Bay Area. It will also highlight Hong Kong's innovation journey and business showcases.

Speakers include Yuga Labs CEO Daniel Alegre, JP Morgan Hong Kong CEO Harshika Patel, Crypto.com CEO Kris Marszalek, Ledger CEO Pascal Gauthier, Animoca Brands CEO Yat Siu, HSBC APAC Co-CEO Surendra Rosha, Chainlink Co-Founder Sergey Nazarov, Onyx by JP Morgan CEO Umar Farooq, and others.

Acting Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Joseph Chan, emphasized the evolution of Hong Kong's fintech industry and the real-life applications of technology. He stated, "The upcoming HKTFW 2023... will serve as a remarkable platform to showcase pioneering advancements and opportunities in the industry, demonstrating how the real-life applications of fintech can improve financial inclusion, enhance customer experience, and drive sustainable growth."

This year's conference will introduce captivating metaverse experiences, showcasing cutting-edge technologies. It will also include the Greater Bay Area Day, fostering synergies between Hong Kong and Shenzhen. Dedicated spaces such as the Investor Lounge, Venture Stage, and the new Women in Tech Lounge will offer tailored workshops and networking opportunities.

The event will also host the grand finale of the Global Scaleup Competition, featuring finalists selected by a panel of 50 international judges. This initiative is part of the broader Global Fast Track 2023 program, promoting connections between fintech firms, investors, and industry partners. With over 500 applications from 63 countries, this year's program has set a new record for participation, reinforcing Hong Kong's status as Asia's fintech hub.
