Singapore-headquartered Cake Group has announced the appointment of Samuel Christian as its chief marketing officer (CMO), while naming Ying Zhong Ng as chief product officer (CPO) and Joana Liew as chief human resources officer (CHRO).
Christian joins from Animoca Brands-backed web3 financial superapp hi, where he was CMO. He was previously digital marketing agency MullenLowe's business director in Hong Kong and co-founded a mobile applications startup called Evertale.
Ng currently steers the key product verticals and research arm at Cake. He joined Cake as its first product manager, and now leads a team of over 50 product managers, engineers, and designers.

As CHRO, Liew focuses on talent management, employee growth, and fostering a vibrant company culture. According to the company, it began the year with 161 employees and is on track to reach its year-end target of 210 employees by the end of the year.
The new appointments complete Cake's executive leadership team, which also comprises Julian Hosp, CEO and co-founder; U-Zyn Chua, CTO and co-founder; Daniel Lo, CLO; and Ping Lai Tan, CFO.
“Now that our executive leadership team is established, we are ready to propel Cake into its next phase of rapid growth,” Hosp said in an announcement on Monday.
Founded in 2019, Cake Group comprises Bake, its retail aim; Levain, its institutional arm; Birthday Research, its R&D arm; and Whisk, its VC arm.
