Metaverse Builder Oncyber Launches Text-Powered Customization via OpenAI’s GPT

OpenAI's GPT is being used by customizable metaverse builder Oncyber as of today.

Oncyber is a 3D world-building platform that allows users to design and build metaverses. Currently, users can import their NFTs, websites, texts and other media into custom made metaverses.

NFTs from different wallets and chains including Ethereum, Solana, Polygon and more are supported by Oncyber.

Today, Oncyber is releasing a new AI-powered tool called Magic Composer, through which users can customize their metaverse via text input in real time. The tool runs on OpenAI's GPT-3.5 model.

In a clip on Twitter, Oncyber demonstrated the technology with inputs of "add all artworks of Terral Jones", after which numerous artworks were displayed in the virtual landscape. "Add white frames" was then typed in, to which white borders were added to the artworks.

“In the next iteration, what we want is for people to port any hallucination or dream they have into a 3D canvas, and just directly see the result of what they might imagine and change things up,” CEO Rayan Boutaleb told Decrypt. “It’s a first step towards a very big end result, which we are not that far off from.”

Boutaleb said the tool is designed to allow users to unlock their creativity, and that there is a disconnect between Oncyber’s game-like engine and the visual user interface.

He added that future updates are planned to include more complex generative features with "less and less boundaries/limits.”

As of today, selected product testers can try out the product, with it being rolled out to the general public soon.

AI x Web3

Despite both being revolutionary internet technologies, there link between AI and Web3 is not yet as strong as one would think.

Earlier this month, Fantom founder Andre Cronje said that AI is not ready to be integrated with Blockchain technology in its current form, despite OpenAI's ChatGPT leading to an increase in AI-related cryptocurrency projects in 2023.

“There is no integration. An AI can’t live inside a blockchain,” Cronje explained.

“AI’s are also black box and mutable, blockchains are transparent and immutable," he added.

CakeDefi Co-Founder and CTO U-Zyn Chua also told Blockhead that AI is limited for blockchain tech. "AI’s impact on blockchain specifically will be minimal simply due to the different nature of both technologies," he said.

"One of the core attributes of blockchain is that it has to be deterministic, but AI functions in a fuzzier way – you get a different answer each time you ask AI."

However, US exchange PayBito recently announced it plans to integrate ChatGPT to improve market analysis.

“The integration of ChatGPT will add value and improve the user experience. The artificial intelligence-based tool will enable traders to make informed decisions with accurate information," Raj Chowdhury, CEO of PayBito, said.
