Singapore's Next Generation of Blockchain Innovators Revealed at SBIP Challenge
The Singapore Blockchain Innovation Programme (SBIP), has announced the winners of its Singapore Blockchain Innovation Challenge 2022.
According to a press release on Friday, the six winners, consisting of three each from the "Corporate" and "Enthusiast" tracks, have been awarded prizes totalling S$80,000, with the Corporate track winners also receiving a SBIP membership.
This year's challenge saw 18 submissions from students, professionals, and enterprises participating and conceptualising ideas based on the theme "Web3.0: The Next Vision of the Internet."
Team Decent Oracles, whose project explores how Proof-of-address ownership can be provided in a decentralised manner, emerged as the winner of the Corporate track while Team Play2Earn, whose project aims to help developers convert their Web2 game into a Web3 product, was the winner of the Enthusiast track.
"It is a proud moment for everyone to see our partners and participants working together to unleash their creativity and eagerness to propel Singapore into the era of Web 3.0 and innovation. The world's future is in the hands of the next generations," said Ooi Beng Chin, SBIP programme lead.
Launched in December 2022, SBIP is an initiative funded by the National Research Foundation (NRF) and supported by Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), Enterprise Singapore (ESG), the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and GovTech to further strengthen Singapore's blockchain ecosystem.
The programme is anchored at the National University of Singapore School of Computing, and aims to align blockchain technology research with the needs of the industry to "facilitate the development, commercialisation and adoption of wider real-world applications."
